HART for Animals, Inc. was founded in 2003 as H.A.R.T. of Garrett County, Inc. in order to save animals from euthanasia. Through a vast network of individual volunteers and rescue organizations, HART has rescued over 2,500 animals by transporting them to more populous locations where they have a greater chance of adoption. In view of the growing numbers of homeless animals, HART launched a campaign to build an animal adoption center in Garrett County. HART is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax deductible.
