Drive a Transport

Transports are trips made to either Hagerstown or Frederick to meet representatives from regional rescue groups. People who want to volunteer must have a large car, feel comfortable around animals, be able to drive, and have the time to make the round trip. On an average, dog transports take four crates, either with puppies or grown dogs, and cat transports take 10 small crates. Volunteers donate the cost of the transport mileage, which qualifies as a charitable donation deductible from their taxes. The real payoff as a volunteer transporter is the absolutely great feeling of knowing that you have helped save the life of an animal!

To become a transporter, please send us an e-mail to info@hartforanimals.org and write "Transport Volunteer" on the subject line.
