Our Goals
- To provide loving homes for adoptable abandoned and abused animals by constructing a humane and friendly adoption center for Garrett County.
- To reduce the number of homeless animals by conducting public education campaigns on the importance of spaying and neutering companion animals, and by providing facilities for spaying and neutering rescued animals prior to adoption.
- To reduce animal abuse and relinquished pets through education on responsible pet ownership and obedience training.
- To continue to provide rescue and transport for animals to more populous locations in order to increase their chances of being adopted.
- To ensure the continued operation of the HART Adoption Center by creating a source of income and a permanent endowment.
- To raise the initial amount of $1.5 million dollars to build and equip the HART Animal Adoption Center.
- To create job opportunities and training for county residents interested in animal care, rehabilitation, and rescue.
- To support the County's efforts in enforcing the laws against animal cruelty and neglect.
