Volunteer

Without the help of our many volunteers, we would not be able to fulfill our mission. Whether at the adoption center or our special events, we are always in need of volunteers.

Becoming a volunteer is easy. We are always looking for motivated people to help across many different areas. We also love group volunteers! Business and family groups that want a special way to bond, are always welcome.

Want to help, but not sure where to start? Check our needs to see what might be the right fit for you.

dog walking

Many of our dogs that are living in the adoption center need exercise. Taking them on walks and helping them get used to others is very important!

SOCIALIZING ANIMALS

Many of our rescued animals need socialization and our volunteers help us to get adoptable pets used to interacting with new people.

RESCUE & TRANSPORT

Help us with picking up, intake, evaluations, and/or transporting rescued animals to other shelters and rescue organizations.

FUNDRAISING

Have a knack for working with people? Help us with fundraising efforts to support everything HART for Animals does.

THRIFT SHOP

Love retail? We have plenty of opportunities for volunteers to work in our thrift shop, a key fundraising activity for HART that’s part of our innovative model.

ADMINISTRATIVE WORK

Are your organized and like working in an office? We can always use help supporting our various functional areas.

reading buddies

A reading program just for kids! Bring your young ones, select books from Enzo’s Library, and enjoy reading to our adorable adoptable dogs. Best of all, you can take the books home with you!

SPECIAL EVENTS

Want to volunteer on a specific day? Try volunteering for our special events. If you have a special skill or ability that lends itself to a specific event, let us know!
