Scotty was a dog that had been "put out to die" until someone from HART saw him, chained to a crate on a rainy day. As a result of that encounter, Scotty received a new lease on life - and became somebody's treasured pet!
In a nearby town, on a rainy day, there was a dog, chained to a barrel filled with water. He was shivering and looking as if death would be a welcome friend. A kind soul saw him and knocked on the door to ask if she could have the dog so he (it was a male) could have a gentle death.
He was given to her and she took him as he was: hairless, bone-thin, infected eyes and an uncaring look...
She gave him the name "Scotty" and took him home. After a bath, which removed thousands of fleas, Scotty was found to be suffering from acute flea dermatitis. He was suffering from blood loss, worms, and his eyes were so sunken that he looked extremely old. When it was time to go to the doctor, his rescuer gave him a coat to wear because he had almost no hair.
Here he is enjoying a sunny day!
