Adoption Story: Clarey

Clarey learns to love.

Hello, my name is Clarey. I am a 1-year-old female German Shepard and I came to HART pretty scared. I didn’t know too much about humans and was in an unfamiliar place. Everyone was very nice to me, but I just didn’t know what to do around them. They would allow me to play with the staff’s dogs and other friends that were at HART waiting for a furever family. I loved when I had play-time because I understand dogs, I just did not get these humans. My friends here kept telling me that the humans were pretty cool, that they would give me treats and scratch my fur, and slowly I started to calm down and learn to trust the humans at HART. Then one day, a new set of humans showed up, humans that I had never met before, and they brought with them another new friend. We went for a walk and we played, and I noticed there was something about these humans that was different than the rest. After we spent some more time together, I finally figured out what it was. They loved me. And I loved them. And finally, I was not scared. I was happy. I was able to leave with my new friends and I’m so excited to understand what I once did not, that some humans are full of love and fun and these humans are my new family. Thank you to my new family for loving me just as I am. I cannot wait to be their best friend as they are becoming mine.
