Control the introduction.

When you bring a new pet home, everyone wants to come meet them, so you’ll want to teach your new pet a controlled greeting.

Give your guests some treats before entering your home. Have your pet sit when the guest comes through the door, and let your guests give a food treat as a reward. This will teach your dog that they get a treat for sitting, and they also get some love and attention by the friendly stranger. This is best accomplished with your pet on lead until they are well- trained.
