We have some exciting news regarding our volunteer program!

We now have level I volunteer training/orientation available online!

It broke our hearts last year when we had to pause our volunteer program due to COVID-19. We have so much love and appreciation for the people who donate their time to improve the lives of the dogs and cats that spend part of their lives with us at HART for Animals. Over the past month, we have begun a soft rollout of a modified volunteer program for people who are Level II volunteers, and it’s been great having them back!

But what about people who have never volunteered with us?

Today, we are announcing that we have taken our Level I Volunteer training and orientation completely online! Now you don’t have to wait for our next scheduled training class, you can do it whenever you like, from the comfort of your own home! It consists of 2 orientation videos and a short evaluation, after which you will be contacted by our Communications Coordinator (Edward, who likes referring to himself in the 3rd person) to schedule your first volunteer shift!

We still have limited volunteer shifts available, but hope to increase the number of shifts steadily as long as COVID cases continue to fall and vaccinations increase.

Also, if you have submitted a request for a volunteer application anytime this last year, you will be contacted via email with our orientation information, no need to resubmit a request.

And for those who attended a Level I orientation previously, but never had the chance to take the Level II orientation, we will be making that available online very soon! Keep an eye on our FB page or website!

If you’re interested in volunteering with HART for Animals, please request an application at the following link, and you will receive the application, along with the orientation within a few days.

Request here:

We’re so happy to be able to offer our volunteer orientation to new people, especially now that we can do it safely and conveniently. Both the staff and the adoptable dogs and cats are very excited to start seeing some new faces!
